Two of our bets run at Leopardstown
Two of our bets run at Leopardstown

Timeform provide you with two bets from Leopardstown and one from Limerick on an action-packed St Stephen's Day...

Mitebeall Forluck didn’t show a great deal in bumpers or over hurdles, but he hinted at possessing ability on his third start over fences and built on that promising display when scoring at Clonmel earlier in the month, only needing a hands-and-heels ride close home to prevail...

News Show ran creditably on her first start for Joanna Morgan when finishing fourth at Navan on Saturday and she makes plenty of appeal in the 18-furlong handicap hurdle at Leopardstown (13:50). News Show shaped well at Navan despite racing without her customary tongue strap, simply unable to go with the leaders close home but showing that she has returned from a short break and switch of yards in good heart. News Show was a fairly useful stayer for David Simcock on the Flat, so evidently possesses some ability, certainly more than she showed over hurdles for Paul Nolan, and we will take a chance that she can exploit this lowly hurdles mark.

Emily Gray failed in her bid for the hat-trick at Cork last time but she shaped better than the bare result in third and can bounce back to winning ways in the two-mile mares' handicap hurdle at Limerick (14:10). The five-year-old mare had looked modest prior to landing a maiden hurdle over this C&D in October but she proved that victory was no fluke with a win in handicap company over two and a half miles at Gowran Park last month. Emily Gray was unsuited by the drop back to the minimum distance at Cork last time but she was closing when clouting the final flight, and she is evidently in excellent heart at present. A return to further would be ideal but Emily Gray should still prove too good for her rivals here.

Mitebeall Forluck showed improved form on his handicap debut to register his first success last time and he catches the eye lurking at the foot of the weights in the 17-furlong handicap chase at Leopardstown (14:20). Mitebeall Forluck didn't show a great deal in bumpers or over hurdles, but he hinted at possessing ability on his third start over fences and built on that promising display when scoring at Clonmel earlier in the month, only needing a hands-and-heels ride close home to prevail. Arthur Moore's unexposed five-year-old gelding is capable of building on that initial success and is worth siding with at Leopardstown.
