Timeform highlight three horses worth backing at Roscommon's evening meeting...
Our first bet runs in the opening 10-furlong maiden (17:55) as we take Mansuri to provide the red-hot Ger Lyons yard with another winner. Racing for the first time on turf, Mansuri produced an improved effort to finish runner-up in a fourteen-runner maiden at Gowran Park, travelling well for a long way before keeping on in pleasing fashion. That performance came over one mile and, while he is not bred to appreciate this step up in trip, it is worth taking a chance on Mansuri's stamina as he did stay on nicely and holds strong claims on form.
The unexposed Kabjoy found only a well-treated rival too hot to handle on her handicap debut but she can gain compensation in the 10-furlong three-year-old handicap at 18:25. That runner-up effort on handicap debut represented much improved form from Jessie Harrington's charge, and it strongly suggested that she is capable of defying a lowly mark. Kabjoy remains open to improvement and should take plenty of beating this evening.
Sadler's Risk was probably flattered when beaten just eight lengths behind Jetson in the World Series Hurdle at Punchestown, but it was still a useful performance and he makes plenty of appeal on his chasing debut at Roscommon this evening (20:25). Without a victory since an impressive wide-margin win on his hurdling debut for Philip Hobbs in 2012, Sadler's Risk has never been blessed with much consistency and obviously comes with risks attached, but he is the class act in the field and is worth chancing for the De Bromhead yard whose chasing recruits are always well schooled.
