Today's Irish SmartPlays focus on the final card of Listowel's festival...
"Emperor Concerto hasn't been seen since making an encouraging start for this yard at Downpatrick in June, but his turn could be near again judged on recent efforts..."
We start in the handicap chase at 15:00. Emperor Concerto hasn't been seen since making an encouraging start for this yard at Downpatrick in June, but his turn could be near again judged on recent efforts and he looks the best option here. Kilcommon Pride is in new hands and, along with Mr Duffy, may complete the places.
We're sticking with Gordon Elliott for our second selection in the handicap hurdle at 16:10. Not For Changing should have more to come for the stable and a reproduction of the level of form he showed over fences last time would probably suffice off this mark. The tongue tie is another interesting factor given his yard. Quick Jack and Luimneach Abu could prove best of the rest.
Finally, we go with an even more reliable yard, that of Willie Mullins, in the 16:45. Rockyaboya was an impressive winner on chase debut at Limerick in November and has won twice over hurdles since. He was bang there when unseating rider over fences in May and clear of rest when second over hurdles last time. He gets the verdict in an open contest.
