He looks like the type to make above-average improvement from that initial effort and he should be difficult to stop this afternoon.

Royal Diamond showed that he was a smart performer last term, winning the Group 1 Irish St Leger, and he has produced creditable efforts in defeat this term in the Yorkshire Cup and the Curragh Cup. He should take this 14-furlong listed contest.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained Fortify is still lightly raced and he can take Leopardstown's ten-furlong handicap at 20:35. Fortify wears headgear and has finished second three times in a row, but he is improving with each run and looked fairly straightforward at the Curragh last time, seeming to appreciate the firmer surface. There are plenty of viable alternatives in a competitive handicap, but Fortify holds the strongest claims and look sure to go well.
