It's the first day of the Galway Summer Festival, for which Timeform provide the best bets.

"The vote goes to Camakasi on the back of his encouraging third at the Curragh last time, with the step back up to this trip unlikely to hold any fears."

It's a late start, with our first selection not running until 18:45. The Tony Martin-trained Quick Jack hasn't been seen since finishing third in a valuable handicap hurdle at Leopardstown in January, but will likely be spot on for this and gets the nod ahead of the progressive Gambling Girl. Marchese Marconi returns to handicap company from a fair mark and is another to consider.

The Flat action starts afterwards, with the 19:15 an interesting seven-furlong handicap for three-year-olds. The vote goes to Camakasi on the back of his encouraging third at the Curragh last time, with the step back up to this trip unlikely to hold any fears. Bobby's Heart rates the type to do better now handicapping and as a Weld charge is feared, though like quite a few from that yard at this meeting he's under-priced, at least relative to the selection.

Primogeniture (19:45) was suited by the step up to this 12-furlong trip when scoring at Fairyhouse last time, despite still appearing rough around the edges, and he gets the nod to continue his improvement. Resiliency was behind the selection last time but ought to again go well, whilst Timiyan will find the step up in trip in his favour now handicapping, and he also warrants respect.
