Three more selections from the Timeform Irish team on Bank Holiday Monday.....
Ishvana did run creditably in a couple of Group 3 contests as a juvenile and, given this looks a weak renewal, she is expected to land her first stakes success.
First up today is Leighinmohr who aims to maintain his unbeaten record at Down Royal in the minor hurdle at 15:05. The Ian Ferguson-trained five-year-old is currently two from two under Rules, winning a bumper at Musselburgh in February and then following up under a penalty in a maiden hurdle at Downpatrick the following month. Having already won a point, the step up to three and three quarter miles is likely to suit and, given he is open to improvement, he looks sure to go close.
The Group 3 Athasi Stakes is one of the two Group races on offer at the Curragh today and it represents a good opportunity for Ishvana. The Aiden O'Brien-trained filly bounced back to form when beating a smart prospect in Slade Power in a minor event at Dundalk last week. Whilst the bare form of that effort may not scream pattern-race performer, Ishvana did run creditably in a couple of Group 3 contests as a juvenile and, given today's race looks a weak renewal, she is expected to land her first stakes success.
The concluding bumper at the Curragh features some horses that have the potential to go onto better things when asked to go hurdling. None more so than Pique Sous, who comes into today's race on the back of his excellent third to stablemate Champagne Fever in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham in March. That run makes him the clear form choice and a reproduction of that effort will make him very difficult to beat.
