Timeform's Irish team bring you their three best bets from Downpatrick on Friday...
"Given that Doc Hollywood has produced a couple of sound efforts under Barry Geraghty, who takes the ride again today, he is the one for our money..."
We kick off proceedings with a handicap hurdle over two-miles-and-two-furlongs (14:35) and it should pay to keep Diamond Dame on side. She looks a promising sort and won't be short of speed having previously won over nine furlongs on the flat, and showed signs of promise over timber at Listowel 11 days ago. She was left poorly placed on that occasion and if ridden with a little bit more enterprise she looks more than capable of making a winning handicap debut over hurdles.
It's a beginners chase over half a furlong further under consideration next (15:40) and given that Doc Hollywood has produced a couple of sound efforts under Barry Geraghty, who takes the ride again today, he is the one for our money. He confirmed his wellbeing with a creditable 6th in a handicap hurdle at Down Royal a month ago and with a tongue strap fitted for the first time combined with his usual cheekpieces, that may be the key to unlocking a winning performance.
The final bet of the day comes in the handicap chase over 23 furlongs (16:50) and Carlanstown gets the vote. He's been a credit to his new handler Gordon Elliott since joining his care, and was last seen finishing a fine second in a handicap hurdle at Perth. On the pick of his form he looks to have a live chance here and with the services of Paul Carberry to aid him a chance is taken on him making a successful transition to fences. Cecra Trova looks handicapped to win but it's hoped the selection can grind him down.
