Evening racing from Dundalk is the focus of today's Irish SmartPlays...
"...Hoppsan has obvious claims which, at this admittedly early stage, look to have been underestimated by the market."
The sprint handicap at 19:20 is competitive and probably best left to Bangalore Diamond, who boasts a fine record at this track (three times a winner, as well as at Laytown) and has been in fair form of late, with Antiquus and Invincible Ridge fancied to fill the places. Last week's winner Rummaging is also respected, but looks short enough in the betting.
The 19:50 is another open race in which the vote is awarded to Cool Athlete. He won twice here last year and returned to winning ways last time after an absence and a drop in the weights. Ningaloo Reef and Dusty In Memphis make most appeal of the remainder, with it also being possible to make a case for Imperator Augustus.
Finally, in the final race at 21:20, Hoppsan has obvious claims which, at this admittedly early stage, look to have been underestimated by the market. She's been knocking on the door of late, placing on her last three starts, most recently when second by a neck over C&D having traded short in running.
