Friday's Irish Smartplays come from the evening card at Down Royal...
Jim Bolger got a win out of Spring Focus before he was sold into the Andy Oliver yard and this well-bred colt looks capable of notching the double in the 20:25.
Ability N Delivery wouldn't have the most obvious claims in the 17:55, but he has dropped to his lowest mark since 2010 and a chance is taken that this will help him bounce back against weak opposition. Kano's Girl has the most recent winning form and beat three of today's rivals when scoring on her last outing. She appears likely to struggle off her revised mark, however, so it is the top-weight who gets the vote, win and place.
It's no surprise to see Shell House favourite for the 19:55. She beat two subsequent winners when shedding her maiden tag at Naas at the end of last month and appeals as the type capable of improving further. Ger Lyons' Snow Scene is her main market rival, though she has yet to score on turf and looks vulnerable to Aidan O'Brien's progressive handicap debutant.
Jim Bolger got a win out of Spring Focus before he was sold into the Andy Oliver yard and this well-bred colt looks capable of notching the double in the 20:25. Ten furlongs on good to firm seem to have brought out the best in him and conditions are again in his favour. The presence of unexposed stablemate Crown Of Aragon does complicate things, however, and Princess Tamay could go well from the bottom of the weights, but the money has come for Spring Focus and he looks the one to be on.
