Friday's Irish SmartPlays come from the jumps card at Kilbeggan.
"It could pay to rely on the good recent form of Hospital in the staying chase at 20:30."
Well Tuned and Padraig's Joy stand out in low-quality opener at 17:55. The latter is preferred as she has shown promise in two hurdle starts and simply failed to see out the three-mile trip last time out. Back at around two and half miles now and in receipt of weight from the respected Well Tuned she should be able to get off the mark.
The booking of Barry Geraghty to ride Seefood in the 19:55 catches the eye. By far the best of these over hurdles, the seven-year-old failed to shine when jumping poorly in two chase starts last season, but is sure to have been well schooled since then and could well prove a cut above today's rivals. Presenting Beara could make a place judged on his penultimate run behind Pageboy at Fairyhouse, while Elegant Statesman is likely to prove best of the rest.
It could pay to rely on the good recent form of Hospital in the staying chase at 20:30. Most of his market rivals have questions to answer and he too is taking a step into the unknown over the trip, but he hasn't been out of the first two in three runs this season and could well have more to give over fences after just five chase starts. Gordon Elliot's Raajih has shown his best form at this track in the past, though could struggle to concede weight to the selection.
