It's our usual Friday night with Dundalk for today's Irish SmartPlays...
"Pivot Bridge (21:15) was below his best on the Flat last year, but returned to winning ways over timber at Gowran (2m) in October."
In the opener (17:45), Queen Grace looked better than ever when winning over C&D (suited by the emphasis on speed) when last seen in the summer and can go well fresh, so gets the vote over Grey Danube, whose win last time came over further, and Antiquus.
We then wait for the two divisions of the closing handicap. The first (20:45) is a fairly open contest at a modest level and it could pay to take a chance on the veteran Gothen Niece, who should go well if she can carry over her good form from hurdles. General Bunching looked on the way back last time and can reach a place along with Habesh.
Pivot Bridge (21:15) was below his best on the Flat last year, but returned to winning ways over timber at Gowran (2m) in October. Caught the eye when a never-nearer fifth to Cristy's Call here last time and is on a handy mark. He is taken to come out on top at the main expense of Bog War and Well Insured.
