Timeform Irish SmartPlays: Drive Time to motor home

The Willie Mullins-trained Drive Time is fancied at Thurles

Timeform have found three bets for you at Thurles on Thursday...

Drive Time has a good strike-rate over hurdles - in fact, he had been unbeaten when completing until finishing fourth in the Galway Hurdle last time - and he holds leading claims in the 15:20...

Avondhu Lady developed into a useful chaser last year, winning on two occasions, and she holds strong claims on her return to action in the opening contest at Clonmel (13:45). Avondhu Lady signed off for the season with arguably her best ever effort, finishing third in a strong contest at Punchestown, and a reproduction of that level of form would make her extremely difficult to beat.

Drive Time has a good strike-rate over hurdles - in fact, he had been unbeaten when completing until finishing fourth in the Galway Hurdle last time - and he holds leading claims in the 15:20. Drive Time may have been beaten at Galway but it was arguably a career-best effort and it is a performance which marks him down as the horse to beat this afternoon. Despite having enough speed to be competitive over the minimum trip, Drive Time has proven that he stays as far as two and a half miles and he shouldn't be inconvenienced by the further step up to 22 furlongs here.

Coolking won on his first start for Dessie Hughes, landing a beginners' chase at Sligo earlier this month, and he looks to have strong claims in the handicap hurdle at 16:55. Coolking is potentially well treated over hurdles, especially as he is open to further improvement for this yard, and it would be little surprise were he to prove too good for his rivals.
