The Irish SmartPlays team are hoping that all three of their selections can gain their first win over hurdles at Limerick this afternoon.....
If Clondaw Warrior is able to translate his bumper form to hurdles at the first time of asking, then he should prove too good for today's rivals.
First up today is useful bumper performer Clondaw Warrior who, after finishing second on his debut last May, improved to win his next three starts. The last of those wins came at Cheltenham in October, when he showed a good turn of foot to beat Catch Tammy by a neck, and if he is able to translate his bumper form to hurdles at the first time of asking, then Clondaw Warrior should prove too good for today's rivals.
A quick glance at Tellherimnothere's recent form figures will show that she finished runner-up on three seperate occasions last season and that she has failed to complete on her last two outings. However, she was running right up to her best and would have finished a clear second to Theleze over course and distance but for falling at the last when last seen in March, form which would see her go very close in the maiden at 14:45. She looks a good bet to finally go one better.
It would be fair to say that Marble House's form in maiden hurdles was poor, but he has made up into a decent performer over fences since. He takes in a handicap hurdle today after falling over the larger obstacles last time (still travelling well and likely to have been third at least in novice handicap at Fairyhouse won by Caduceus). If none the worse for those exertions, Marble House will surely go close able to translate his improved chase form back to this sphere.
