Timeform highlight bets at both Punchestown and Cork this afternoon...
Cork's 13:25 is a potentially a high-quality maiden hurdle and a case can be made for several of the contenders. However, Blow The Doors chased home a good prospect in Very Wood (subsequently second in a Grade 3) on debut in this sphere at Galway and is taken to go one better this time. Valmy Baie showed plenty over hurdles in France and is feared most ahead of Shield and Katie T.
Punchestown's 14:45 is a difficult race to get a handle on and it may prove beneficial to side with handicap debutant City Slicker who was impressive when scoring over C&D in May and doesn't look on a bad mark for this, his reappearance. Bishopslough and Bendanella can chase him home, in what looks a minefield for the places.
Toon River sets a decent standard and certainly deserves to get his head in front over fences, while Ballyburke and Moscow Chief are also key players. However, a chance is taken on Sammy Black (15:05) who made good strides over timber last term and he's an embryonic chaser in the making.
