Timeform's Irish team bring you their three best bets from Navan on Sunday...
"Balbriggan made it three wins from five starts for Gordon Elliott when scoring over hurdles at Sedgefield recently and looks to be extremely well treated back over fences..."
Navan 12:55 - Martello Tower
It's the Grade 2 Monksfield Hurdle over two-and-a-half miles up first and it's fair to say most of these are promising performers in their own right. However, Martello Tower not only sets a clear standard but also looks the one most likely to improve further. He has to concede weight to the field but could prove the best of this field by a stretch, and he's taken to get us off to a winning start.
Navan 13:25 - Balkinstown
It's a handicap hurdle over the minimum trip under consideration next and Balkinstown is the one to keep on side. He shaped extremely well at Punchestown last week and has an excellent chance on the pick of his form. It's also a positive that he is lightly raced given his profile and as a result now his attention is solely focused on handicaps, he could be capable of improving a good deal on his current mark.
Navan 14:25 - Balbriggan
Our final bet of the day comes in the feature contest, the Troytown Handicap Chase over three miles and as you would expect, it looks something of a minefield. However, Balbriggan made it three wins from five starts for Gordon Elliott when scoring over hurdles at Sedgefield recently and looks to be extremely well treated back over fences. That win should have him spot-on fitness wise and providing he gets some luck in running, should be bang there at the business end of proceedings.
