Bets Of The Day: If The Cap Fits to repeat at Ascot

If The Cap Fits Ascot
Today's best bet If The Cap Fits runs at Ascot

Nick Shiambouros returns with two fancies from Huntingdon and Ascot...

"He has no ground or trip concerns and runs well when fresh"

Back If the Cap Fits at 4.67/2 in the 14:40 at Ascot

Adjourned the one

11:55 Huntingdon - Adjourned

This race looks to be at the mercy of Adjourned.

This gelding ran well on hurdles debut when finishing second to Imperial Flem. He was headed on the run to the final flight, but kept on well to hold on to a place. This was a promising first run, and his trainer appears to have found the perfect opportunity for him to get off the mark. At present he is trading at 1.9720/21 on the exchange and have backed him at that price.

Financial Conduct is the second choice at 4.77/2 on the exchange. He finished a distant fifth to Ecco at Ascot earlier this month. This was his first run for almost a yea,r and should have more to offer. He is the most likely to chase the selection home.

The Cap will fit

14:40 Ascot - If The Cap Fits

If The Cap Fits can win this race for the second year running.

This consistent performer ended last season with a game victory over Roksana in the Stayers Hurdle at Aintree. He made a terrible mistake at the last, but recovered to force his head in front near the line. I thought that was an outstanding effort and was impressed with his battling qualities. He has no ground or trip concerns and runs well when fresh. I think he is capable of defying a penalty, and is fairly priced at 4.67/2 on the exchange.

Call Me Lord is the current favourite at 3.3512/5 on the exchange. His third in the Imperial Cup at Sandown reads well, but I think the selection will have his measure.
