17:15 - SHEPHERD'S PURSE (7) showed improved form in first-time blinkers to win over C&D last week and, despite carrying a 4lb penalty, looks well treated based on the pick of his old form. That comfortable success didn't come completely out of the blue as he has run creditably on his two previous all-weather outings, and another bold bid appears to be on the cards.
17:45 - FOOTSTEPS AT DAWN (4) arrives on the back of a solid fourth at Dundalk last month and he is developing a consistent profile on the all-weather, certainly looking more reliable on an artificial surface than on turf. He is well treated based on his form at Dundalk from earlier in the year, when he twice finished runner-up, and can strike on his first start in Britain.
18:15 - KINSMAN (6) is well bred - his dam, Peeress, twice won at Group 1 level - and he shaped well when finishing third on debut, despite meeting trouble in running. He probably would have given the first two home something to think about had he secured a smooth passage and he is entitled to improve significantly for that initial outing. He gets the nod over Abwaaq, who also fared well on debut and is a promising type.
18:45 - ARIJ (3) is bred to be useful - his dam was a three-time Group 1 winner - and he offered plenty to work with on debut at Windsor, looking in need of the experience as he only got going when the race was all but over. He was nearest at the finish, passing the line in sixth, and looks sure to take a sizeable step forward.
19:15 - TALAP (4) was beaten narrowly on his nursery debut at Windsor but he pulled four lengths clear of the third and still looks fairly treated, despite going up 5lb. His relative lack of experience was arguably the difference between winning and losing at Windsor and he should have derived plenty of benefit from getting involved in such a battle.
19:45 - SWINLEY (6) has taken well to artificial surfaces and built on a promising third at Kempton when beaten only half a length over C&D last week. That was his best effort yet and he should prove tough to beat off the same mark.
20:15 - STORMBOMBER (11) had little chance of reeling in the winner at Newcastle last time having conceded first run after meeting trouble, but he did well to finish second, running right up to his best, and he looks set to give another good account. A 1lb rise is more than fair - the winner has since followed up - and the forecast strong pace should play to his strengths.
