Timeform on Escapability
14:10 - SIR ARTHUR DAYNE (1) acquitted himself well in a competitive Ayr nursery last time, doing well in the circumstances, faring best of those held up, and gets the nod in a tricky-looking opener. Talap and Arabian Moon are feared most.
14:40 - BOTTOM BAY (6) should have learnt plenty from his Leicester debut and will appreciate this stiffer test of stamina. He can open his account now, likely at the main expense of Tinnahalla, who should also benefit from this longer trip and is respected, whilst Arij and Back From Dubai look the pick of an interesting bunch of newcomers.
15:10 - This looks a good opportunity for PLAIT (1), who bounced back to her best when runner-up at Goodwood recently and is suited by the conditions of this contest. Dawn Treader and Elegant Love may give her most to think about.
15:40 - ESCAPABILITY (6) remains a maiden, but there is reason to think he hasn't shown all he has as yet, well backed over a mile and a quarter at this course when last seen six months ago, and running creditably, too. That race wasn't run to suit, either, coming from further back than the principals, briefly looking a big threat, and suggesting he has an even bigger performance in the locker. Alan King has freshened him up since, and he looks a player here with Oisin Murphy a positive booking. Crystal King looks a danger, along with Torcello.
16:10 - I'LLETYOUGONOW's (11) sole win came over this C&D in August, and coincidently that was the only time she has been ridden by Silvestre De Sousa. That win came on good to firm ground, so today's ground presents a different test, but she has run well on good to soft before, and hopefully it won't be much of a problem. She remains on a fair enough mark if not, and with De Sousa back in the plate, there is plenty to like about her chances. Oloroso has often promised more than he has delivered so far and the money for him this morning is interesting, so he is feared most.
16:40 - It's hard to get away from LOFTY (3), who upped his game when second on handicap debut at Leicester when last seen in June and could have more to offer yet. Festina and Mrs Worthington look the likeliest dangers.
17:10 - MERCERS (9) had seemingly lost his way before returning to form from out of the blue at Lingfield last time, beaten less than a length in fourth having hardly beaten a rival previously this season. She now looks attractively handicapped (3 lb below her last winning mark) and, provided she can go the right way from that, she ought to be bang in the mix here.
