"...he should take all the beating..."

Timeform on Midnight Moss

Timeform take you through the card at Uttoxeter on Sunday...

13:10 - MIDNIGHT MOSS (5) won a seller on his final start for Gillian Boanas and shaped well on debut for new connections when finishing fourth back in handicap company at Wetherby earlier this month. That was his first start at two and a half miles, and he was ridden too patiently, still having plenty to do four out, but making good headway after. Granted he is better placed here, he should take all the beating, still lightly raced for his age.

13:40 - This looks a useful race of its type, and DESIGNER DESTINY (4) is taken to build on his encouraging hurdling debut at Newbury last time. That looked a hot race, two potentially smart types pulling well clear of the remainder, and Designer Destiny ran about as well as could be expected (sent off at odds of 50/1) to finish fifth. This looks an easier assignment, for all there are some equally progressive types in opposition, and Harry Whittington's lightly-raced five-year-old is fancied to go close here.

14:10 - This looks a trappy veterans' event where all four have something to prove, but the one who arrives in the best form is LAC SACRE (3). He has recent winning form - which counts for plenty in races like this - and, though he didn't look likely to follow up his Ffos Las win when falling three out at Stratford last time, connections have booked one of the top conditional riders here, suggesting a bold bid is anticipated.

14:40 - COOLE CODY (2) hasn't won for two years, but the handicapper has given him a real chance, and he could be worth chancing having shaped as though he'd come on for the run on his reappearance. That was in the Welsh Champion Hurdle, a much stronger race than the one he contests today, and the balance of his form last season makes him the one to beat, too.

15:10 - LICKPENNY LARRY (2) ran one of his better races after six months off at Plumpton last time, going with plenty of enthusiasm and only beaten by one who is talented on his day. He pulled clear of the remainder on that occasion, and is entitled to strip fitter for that run, too. He looks the one to side with able to race from the same mark here, in what is another tightly-knit contest.

15:40 - ASTRA VIA (7) remains a maiden, but is up to winning races from this sort of mark, and makes the most appeal here after catching the eye on her reappearance at Uttoxeter in October. There was plenty to like about the manner in which she travelled there, making a brief effort leaving the back straight until the lack of a run told. She wasn't at all knocked about after, and much better is expected now for a yard among the winners.
