Arthurian holds decent claims with potential pace angle
19:00 Sandown - Back Arthurian Fable @ 4.507/2
Tuesday's tip Zuba ran in the Sandown 1m6f event, and if ever there was a race to highlight the need to make the running in staying ones at the track - that was it.
Fibonacci had built up a big lead, he looked like he was there for the taking, but he rallied.
Therefore, I have to stick with Arthurian Fable - who set the pace last time at Newmarket, and he is well worth a go over tonight's new distance. He's by Sea The Stars, and they stay well, plus the sire seems to throw up fluent-moving horses, so I am not too perturbed by the possibility of quick ground.
Arthurian Fable might be vulnerable to a couple of improvers, but his form is established with an unlucky fifth behind Hukum at Royal Ascot and a fine reappearance second at Newmarket over a trip that was short of his optimum.
John Gosden's Indigo Lake might be a little overbet in the race judged on his unlucky run at Haydock, but I give Arthurian Fable a major chance from 87, especially if front-running tactics are applied.
For in-running players, the selection has traded odds-on in defeat in two of his three starts - including a 1.171/6.
Commissioner set to rule with drop in distance
19:30 Sandown - Back High Commissioner @ 6.05/1
It's time to go with a front-runner again for a big field 1m2f handicap - and High Commissioner looks an interesting one for Paul and Oliver Cole.
With 17 in the line-up, those posted out wide will really struggle, so it makes sense to go low, and High Commisioner is drawn perfectly in 2 for an attacking ride.
He simply didn't stay over 1m6f at Salisbury last time, and whilst the trainer has flirted with 1m4f with the horse, tonight's trip could be ideal.
Cieren Fallon's 3lb claim is a plus, and he rode a big price winner for the team on Tuesday.
