Timeform on Zylan

13:50 - TICKS THE BOXES (2) returned to form back on the all-weather at Newcastle last time, and he's worth siding with on his return to a venue where he did so well in the first half of the year. Filbert Street is an interesting contender on his first outing for Mick Appleby, particularly if the market speaks in his favour. Atalanta Queen and Fly True are others with good records here and also merit respect.

14:25 - AMELIA R (8) shaped better than the bare result when fifth at Catterick last time, ultimately beaten only three and a half lengths having been forced to make her effort in the unfavoured far-side group, doing much the best of those she raced with. Ray Craggs' charge certainly showed enough to suggest that she remains on a fair mark, the one to beat on weight-adjusted ratings here, and she is well worth another chance to confirm the promise of her clear-cut Nottingham success in July, the last time that she was ridden by today's pilot Jimmy Quinn.

15:00 - STRONG POWER (3) posted fairly-useful form when scoring at Lingfield in May and looks the one to beat here, no less than 12 lb clear of his nearest rival on weight-adjusted ratings. Maystar and Augustus Caesar head the opposition.

15:35 - ZYLAN (1) is not the most consistent and arrives here on the back of a disappointing showing at Ayr, but it would be no surprise to see him bounce back on his return to Southwell, a venue that has provided him with five of his nine career wins to date. Now only 2 lb higher than when recording the latest of them here in February, the drop back to the minimum trip - for the first time since May 2018 - is a slight concern, but the extreme pace forecast here should ensure that the emphasis is firmly on stamina, and he is fancied to be finishing stronger than most on the fibresand that he seems to love so much.

16:10 - LAUBERHORN ROCKET (1) upped his game when scoring at Kempton last time, and, still relatively low-mileage, he is taken to defy a 5 lb higher mark to follow up at the expense of Blowing Dixie and Dolly Dupree in this penultimate leg of the Placepot.

16:45 - BHANGRA (2) was a convincing winner on her return at Windsor a fortnight ago and looks to have been found a good opportunity to follow up here, with further improvement on the cards. Quickly Does It is feared most.

17:20 - STEEL HELMET (2) arrives in fine form and is chasing a hat-trick after victories at Newcastle and Lingfield. Still on a workable mark, he can land the finale. Beechwood James chased home the selection last time and could well do so again, whilst Thahab Ifraj also enters calculations.
