Timeform take you through the six thoroughbred Group 1s at Longchamp on Sunday...
"...that was a career-best effort and she shapes as if she has an even bigger effort in her locker..."
Timeform on Mehdaayih
13:15 - Prix Marcel Boussac
Savarin has created a good impression in winning both starts and saw off a few of these rivals when winning a noted trial for this race over C&D last month. She has plenty of scope for improvement and can provide Andre Fabre with just his second winner of the Prix Marcel Boussac - he struck with Miss Tahiti 24 years ago. The only filly trained outside France is Jessica Harrington's Albigna. She disappointed in the Moyglare last time but had previously looked a promising filly.
13:50 - Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere
Armory was no match for Pinatubo in the National Stakes at the Curragh last month, where he was brushed aside by nine lengths. However, his impressive victory in the Tyros Stakes is just about the best form on offer. He faces a serious challenger, however, in the shape of the Andre Fabre-trained Victor Ludorum, who maintained his unbeaten record with an impressive display at Chantilly last month and is fancied to take this steep step up in class in his stride.
15:05 - Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe
It is difficult to look beyond Enable, who has carried all before her once again this season and has outstanding claims of registering a third Arc success. Her victory in the Yorkshire Oaks last time, where she got the better of old adversary Magical, was just about her best performance on ratings since her win in the 2017 Arc. Magical and her stablemate Japan, who won the Juddmonte International at York last time, are among the main dangers.
15:55 - Prix de l'Opera
Mehdaayih had too much use made of her in the Nassau Stakes and she shaped very well in finishing runner-up to Deirdre. That was a career-best effort and she shapes as if she has an even bigger effort in her locker. Testing conditions will prove no problem as she was very impressive when winning the Cheshire Oaks on soft ground in May. Trainer John Gosden's other filly, the lightly raced Terebellum, rates among the leading dangers after winning a Group 2 at Deauville last time.
16:30 - Prix de l'Abbaye
This looks all about Battaash, who is miles clear on ratings and should be able to register a second Prix de l'Abbaye success. He was disappointing in last year's Abbaye but had flopped in the Nunthorpe on his previous start. This time he arrives on the back of a career-best effort in the Nunthorpe and should be too good.
17:05 - Prix de la Foret
One Master landed this last year and has an excellent chance of following up. Testing conditions are no problem and she has looked as good as ever this year, only narrowly beaten in the Queen Anne Stakes and Falmouth Stakes. City Light is a classy performer on his day and rates as the greatest danger.
