"...well worth the chance to get back on the up and prove himself better than a mark of 89 for Roger Varian..."

Timeform on Edaraat

17:25 - KWELA (4) ran well when a close third in a C&D claimer 12 days ago and is on a fair mark back in a handicap if reproducing that. Swiss Pride finished in front of the selection when runner-up in the same race and looks the main threat despite being 2 lb worse off this time. Fancy Flyer has done well for this rider of late and is best of the others.

18:00 - James Doyle has ridden more winners at Kempton (85) than at any other track in recent years, and it would be no surprise if the newcomer UNTOUCHABLE BEAUTY (12) proved sharp enough to add to his tally in the second race on this evening's card. Hugo Palmer's charge is certainly bred to make a two-year-old - she is out of Extreme Beauty and a half-sister to the useful Exceeding Power, both of whom won over six furlongs as juveniles - and, given the lowly standard set by those with previous experience, she probably wouldn't have to be a superstar to make a winning start in the same colours carried by another promising two-year-old for this combination, the recent May Hill winner Powerful Breeze.

18:30 - TODAY POWER (1) showed plenty of improvement when only just failing to peg back Now I'm A Believer on nursery bow at Chepstow 11 days ago and is fancied to turn the tables with that rival on 1 lb better terms. The well-bred Grimsthorpe Castle looks a likely improver now handicapping so is one to note with Oisin Murphy booked.

19:00 - EDARAAT (6) pulled clear with a subsequent winner when successful on his penultimate outing at Redcar and is better judged on that form for now, doing enough in a race that didn't pan out well for him at York last time to show that he remains in good heart, beaten only four and a quarter lengths at the line after being forced to make his effort away from the other principals. This represents a significant drop in grade, and with the prospect of even more to come after only six starts, Edaraat is well worth the chance to get back on the up and prove himself better than a mark of 89 for Roger Varian, who can also boast an excellent strike rate at Kempton (23%) in recent seasons.

19:30 - Sent off at 7/4-on, ALIGNAK (5) failed to land the odds back from a break at Ffos Las last time, but his Salisbury run is solid form, making him well worth another chance under Oisin Murphy, who has a 35% strike rate when riding favourites. Noble Music looks capable of winning one of these and is the obvious threat.

20:00 - KAMIKAZE LORD (10) shaped well and probably should have won when encountering seven furlongs for the first time here last month, finishing on the heels of the leaders (beaten just a length and a quarter) despite never being able to open up in the straight. John Butler's charge certainly showed enough to suggest that he will be winning again sooner rather than later, and, the standard-setter on weight-adjusted ratings here, there is no reason why he can't make amends for that unlucky defeat, granted a bit more luck of course.

20:30 - COCHISE (2) made much more of an impact switched to a handicap when fifth at Chepstow last week and this well-bred sort should have more to offer with headgear now applied. Whistler Bowl came clear of the others when beaten only by a subsequent winner at Goodwood last month and is feared most ahead of Ignatius.
