13:50 - BURMESE BLAZER's (1) strike rate hardly makes him bet-compelling but he's been better than the result on a few occasions this year and may be capable of taking advantage of this drop in class. The Jim Goldie yard are going along nicely at present and Burmese Blazer will handle conditions, so looks to have every chance. The Ruth Carr pair Cosmic Chatter and Vallarta can give him most to do.
14:20 - CONGA (1) hasn't won since making a winning debut at Haydock around this time last year on her sole start in 2018, and has shown enough on her five starts this season to suggest she is up to winning races from this sort of mark. The ground seems key to her, too, not running to form back on a firmer surface at Newmarket last time, so conditions today should hold no fears, and this is the easiest race she has contested in a while. There is enough in her favour to make her of interest in a race that shouldn't take much winning. Yes You wasn't seen to best effect over seven furlongs at Redcar last time and she had been shaping up quite nicely prior to that so looks the main danger.
14:55 - MAKYON (1) is about the only one in this line-up who has shown he's fully effective on very testing ground and he can make light of top weight on this nursery debut, having been well backed and beaten only by an improver in a minor event last time. National League leaves the impression he has a bigger performance in him and could be the one for the forecast spot.
15:25 - TWENTYSIXTHSTREET (1) and Grimsdyke look well treated under their penalties and are the pair to focus on. The former is proven under these ground conditions and represents connections that love having winners here, so that's enough to sway things in his favour. Pearl of Qatar will be suited by the return to 6f and looks best of the rest.
16:00 - There was plenty to like about OAKENSHIELD's (6) soft-ground debut at Haydock at the start of this month and he's selected to build on that and strike at the second time of asking with the prospect of even better to come. Art Power is another who posted an encouraging first effort earlier this month and he may prove next best ahead of the more-established Ventura Flame.
16:30 - AUTUMN FLIGHT (3) has been at the top of his game since fitted with blinkers and looks to stand a good chance of another win with the drop back to five furlongs likely to help him if anything. Tim Easterby has his sting in fine order, too, so that further strengthens his claims. Groundworker has been successful on his last 2 visits here and can follow the selection home ahead of Somewhere Secret.
