13:50 - An interesting minor event to start and Dubai Paradise sets the standard and is open to improvement after a fair fourth at Newmarket but the standard isn't overly high and could be worth siding with a newcomer to create a big impression. Big yards are represented and the one that jumps out most is QUEEN DAENERYS (5) . She was an expensive purchase from the USA and has plenty of smart types in her immediate family. The booking of Ryan Moore catches the eye for Roger Varian, who had a newcomer run well last night at Newbury.
14:25 - Another minor event with an excellent roll of honour that Richard Hannon has done extremely well in, having four winners of the last eight runnings, so it is interesting that he sends MUMS TIPPLE (4) to continue that record. Despite not taking the eye on pedigree or price tag compared to others in the race, his trainer is in hot form and will know what it takes to win this contest. If he's strong in the betting, a bold show must be expected. Both Man Of Promise and Surf Dancer have Gimcrack entries so are also worth attention.
15:00 - THEMAXWECAN (7) has been crying out for a step up in trip on his last four starts and is well worth being the selection now getting that. He takes on his elders in handicap company for the first time and receives over a stone in weight for that. Mark Johnston excels with exactly his type and he won this contest in 2014 with a three-year-old. James Doyle takes the ride and interestingly, is attempting 8-13 for the first time in at least the last month.
15:35 - Magnetic Charm has strong form when finishing second in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot off top weight and looks worth a go at a level weights listed contest but ANNA NERIUM (1) can put her lesser effort in the Duke Of Cambridge stakes behind her and regain the winning thread under a penalty. She won the Princess Margret at Epsom on Derby day before Royal Ascot possibly came too soon. Her best form has come after she's had a break and with over a five-week gap today, she can come out on top and prove her class.
16:10 - ALMOST MIDNIGHT (7) is another unexposed sort tackling a handicap for the first time and looks to have room to manoeuvre off his opening mark of 95. He was last seen at this track when finishing seventh in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot and his mark seems very fair based on that form. He, like an earlier selection, takes on his elders in a handicap so is in receipt of weight, and can continue to improve.
16:45 - An extremely tough sprint handicap in the last leg of the placepot with plenty of in-form sorts taking their chance. Only Spoofing has an obvious chance but his mark might now be a touch on the high side, so a chance is taken on MOUNTAIN PEAK (10) to continue his trainers good recent run of form. He won well at Newmarket last time out, albeit not in the strongest of races, but was well in command and could prove to still be improving. The drop to five furlongs on a stiff track worked for him and with conditions the same today, he can run well off his new mark.
17:15 - Having been made a non-runner yesterday at Yarmouth because of the ground, TEXTING (5) looks to have an excellent chance of taking today's finale. Having won extremely impressively last time out, when posting excellent sectionals in the process, he looks to take all the beating here and can make light work of his new handicap mark.
