Timeform take you through the card at Chelmsford on Thursday...
"...the Godolphin charge is every inch a likely-looking type..."
Timeform on Lord Tennyson
17:30 - TIME TO REASON (6) shaped well when second at Wolverhampton last month, and backed up that return to form when again finding only one too good at the same venue last time. He is due to go up 2 lb for his recent performance but is off the same mark today - 6 lb lower than when winning this race last year - so is a confident selection to get his head back in front.
18:00 - SUZI'S CONNOISSEUR (5) is hard to trust, but his mark has fallen to a workable one and he would be dangerous to discount in this contest. He shaped better than the bare result would imply when fifth at Lingfield last time, and has won over this course and distance in the past, so he edges the vote in a trappy affair. LALANIA (6) wasn't disgraced over this course and distance last time following a 7 lb rise, and looks the biggest danger now eased 1 lb.
18:30 - FIGHTING TEMERAIRE (5) turned in his best effort of the season when a gutsy winner over this course and distance in December, and has shaped as if still in good form on his two subsequent outings. He wasn't seen to best effect over six furlongs last time but looks to have a good chance of regaining the winning thread now back at his optimum trip.
19:00 - After disappointing on his handicap debut, LORD HALIFAX (6) got back on the up when scoring in good style at Kempton in December. He was unsuited by the way the race developed when struggling under a penalty seven days later, but is best not judged on that form. His current mark of 79 is unlikely to prove beyond him judged on his Kempton win and, with this step up in trip expected to suit, he looks the one to side with.
19:30 - After offering little to work with on her debut, SCHMOOZIE (2) ran to a fair level in her two subsequent outings, finishing third on both occasions. She showed up pretty well over a less-than-ideal trip at Wolverhampton last time, that race not necessarily getting to the bottom of her, and she should have more to offer now taking on handicap company from a workable opening mark.
20:00 - Purchased for €380,000 as a two-year-old, LORD TENNYSON (1) ticks plenty of boxes on his belated debut. Half-brother to winners Mubaalegh and Shyamala, the Godolphin charge is every inch a likely-looking type, and this appeals as a perfect opportunity for him to open his account.
20:30 - ROCA MAGIC (8) resumed winning ways in good style over this course and distance last week, always travelling the best and ultimately proving far too good for her rivals. She turned the tables on Grandee Daisy - who had beaten her six days earlier - on that occasion, and looks well placed to confirm that form under a penalty.
