Timeform on Garsman
17:30 - GARSMAN (3) showed improved form to get off the mark at the first attempt for Michael Appleby, taking well to the artificial surface at Southwell last week. He remains open to further improvement for his new yard and is fancied to defy a penalty now back in handicap company.
18:00 - COME ON BEAR (8) improved to get off the mark at Wolverhampton last time, staying on to lead near the finish after benefitting from being ridden close to the pace. She gets the chance to run without a penalty here, and is actually 1 lb lower than last time, so she must hold obvious claims under apprentice rider George Rooke.
18:30 - ROCA MAGICA (10) finally got off the mark over this course and distance last month before going like the best horse at the weights when third at Wolverhampton next time out. She found her good run of form coming to a halt when back over this course and distance last time, but she was left with a hopeless task after being caught too far back. She probably remains in good form however, and is taken to bounce back to winning ways.
19:00 - SOLAR HEIGHTS (4) might have needed the run when fifth at Wolverhampton in December, but returned to form with that outing under her belt when runner-up at the same track last month. She beat home Grey Teizy and Exceed Loose on that occasion and, with all competitors carrying the same weight here, she looks particularly well in, so is taken to confirm that form and record her fourth success over this course and distance.
19:30 - LUCKY'S DREAM (2) followed up his victory over this course and distance with a career best performance to record successive victories at Newcastle last time, deserving extra credit for catching one who had the run of the race. He has been improving with each race of late and makes plenty of appeal under a penalty as he bids for the hat-trick.
20:00 - PITCHER'S POINT (4) looked in need of the experience when third on his debut at Newcastle last month, but was unlucky not to open his account at the second time of asking when just bumping into an above-average prospect at Wolverhampton. He remains with the potential for better and looks more than capable of winning a race of this nature.
20:30 - SUBLIMINAL (8) confirmed his return to form when resuming winning ways at Lingfield last month, before following up at the same track shortly after. In fact, he was value for more than the winning distance might suggest on the latter occasion, as his rider managed to correct a shifted saddle and still have time to ask for maximum effort at the finish. He is up just 3 lb for that win and is of plenty of interest in his hat-trick attempt.
