"...remains capable of better over fences, especially now back down in trip..."
Timeform on Bako de la Saulaie
14:10 - MIDNIGHT SHADOW (2) has held his form well since his successful debut over hurdles, chasing home First Flow in the Rossington Main over C&D in January, and this looks a good opportunity for him to resume winning ways. However, it might be worth including THINK AHEAD (3) in perms in case the favourite falters after a break. Think Ahead won a handicap off 102 at Meydan in February 2016 and clearly has plenty of talent; he's 1/1 after winning at Cartmel in the summer.
14:40 - The Ffos Las winner Skewiff has been well supported, however CHICAGO LADY (3) could be the one to side with if she can progress from her good second at Carlisle. She chased home a talented horse that day and gets a hand 6 lb from Skewiff here. Market support for Drill Baby Drill, who starts out for Tom George in a very winnable race, would need taking seriously.
15:15 - BAKO DE LA SAULAIE (2) remains capable of better over fences, especially now back down in trip, so he receives the vote. He's run out of puff on testing ground on his last three starts (all over 3m on testing ground) and this test looks more suitable. There are dangers however, with Hills of Dubai and Hogan's Height respected given the positive impressions both have created early on in their chase careers.
15:50 - It could be worth giving another chance to SECRET LEGACY (1), who was a little disappointing last time but looks on a fair mark on handicap debut based on his promising Leicester stable bow in January. He's closely matched with Absolutely Dylan on their run behind Ballinslea Bridge at Market Rasen in January. Snougar may be a danger, however Venetia William's horses are in better form now and a better second string could be SUBCONTINENT (4) who is worth another chance after disappointing at Sandown last time.
16:20 - SHOCKINGTIMES (7) is a ropey jumper a times (latest unseat not his fault, however) but figures on a good mark and could be worth chancing. In-form pair Buffalo Ballet and UNTIL WINNING (2) head the dangers, with preference for the last-named. His Carlisle conqueror has won again since and this race could be run to suit if Swing Hard goes a strong pace in front.
16:55 - This is all about CALIPSO COLLONGES (1), who has further advertised the training prowess of Olly Murphy in recent weeks, and given he escapes a penalty for his latest success at Market Rasen, the 4-timer is on the cards. The market support for Champagne George is interesting, the horse having bounced back to form at Southwell last time, however he has stamina to prove and along with fortunate Carlisle winner Red Danaher is relatively easily opposed here.
