"She ran a good race in defeat at Nottingham last time and has run well here before, so with her yard in flying form she could surprise a few."

Timeform on Classical Times

14:15 - MANCINI (8) has returned a totally different proposition this year. He relished this sort of trip last time, making a mockery of a 5 lb rise and there's every chance he could still be well ahead of his mark. Byron Flyer wasn't seen to best effect on his return and needs considering, while The Grand Visir shouldn't be written off just yet, however a better second string is GOOD RUN (2). He was a progressive handicapper a couple of seasons ago and things didn't drop right for him last term, but it's encouraging that he produced a career-best effort on his reappearance last season.

14:50 - QAYSAR's (3) St James's Palace entry catches the eye having made it three wins in a row in a traditionally-strong Newbury handicap last month and he could land the spoils again. Completion and Highlight Reel are both big dangers in another red-hot renewal of the Silver Bowl, but preference is for CRACK ON CRACK ON (15). He beat Insurgence by half a length last time, but it was more the manner of his win - racing freely in rear but thundering home to lead close home - which impressed more than the winning distance. He will go on improving and could be well treated from just a 5 lb higher mark.

15:25 - A race that has really thrived as a Group 2 and SANDS OF MALI (5) could be the way to go after a fine reappearance win in France. He's one of several who could develop into top-class sprinters, among them INVINCIBLE ARMY (3), who travelled very well when winning the Pavilion at Ascot on his return. That was a fair step up on his two-year-old form and he must go close here. Last year's Richmond-winner Barraquero is also respected.

16:00 - BATTAASH (1) confirmed himself the outstanding sprinter of last season when easily winning the Prix de l'Abbaye at Chantilly and is clearly the one to beat despite his 5 lb penalty. Kachy has looked better than ever to win three of his four starts this year and is next best ahead of progressive-filly Mabs Cross, who may have preferred a bit more rain at the track. Hold up performers Muthmir and Washington DC will be well suited if the race is run at the expected frenetic pace.

16:35 - DANCING STAR (3) drew a blank in a shortened 2017 campaign, but showed plenty of ability remains after 11 months off when going close in a minor event over C&D two weeks ago and is more than capable of winning this on her best form. Clon Coulis was most progressive last season and should leave her comeback run behind, while Different League is potentially a big player if back to her two-year-old form. However, at a big price, CLASSICAL TIMES (1) could run well. She ran a good race in defeat at Nottingham last time and has run well here before, so with her yard in flying form she could surprise a few.

17:10 - The David O'Meara-trained MUSCIKA (4) leaves the impression he is in better heart than recent form figures suggest, keeping on well enough having had his blindfold removed late at Ascot recently. He appeals as being on a handy mark and, refitted with cheekpieces, a big run may well be on the cards. Maid In India looks a typical improving sprinter for Eric Alston, and along with Athollblair Boy, heads the dangers.

17:45 - LUCKY DEAL is proving to be a straightforward, typical strong galloper for his yard, going down only to a similarly progressive sort at Thirsk on his most recent start. Very much the type to make another bold bid from the front, he may well be difficult to dislodge granted those circumstances.

18:15 - KARAWAAN shaped with plenty of promise when third at Newcastle on his return, and he looks one to be firmly interested in with that under his belt. Breden should continue to run well, while Nayel would be a threat if holding his form this time round.
