"He needs to settle down a little bit (keen last time), but looks the type to keep on improving as his stamina is drawn out."

Timeform on History Writer

18:15 - The Alan King-trained four-year-old LONG SOCKS (5) is an unexposed type who can take a big jump forward having not been seen to best effect on his handicap bow at Wetherby last time. Broken Force ran his best race over C&D last week and would be dangerous if turning up in a similar mood, with Fleetfoot Jack another to consider if taking up this engagement.

18:45 - The former Saeed Bin Suroor-trained ISLAND OF LIFE (5) landed a gamble in good style at Sandown last week and can follow up with Haydock's leading rider taking over. Economic Crisis should go well again after her Ayr win, while Midnight Malibu is one to be interested in after a fine run at Nottingham.

19:15 - Timeform 'Horse In Focus' MORE THAN THIS (1) looked a 2-y-o going places when scoring in fine style on debut at Ayr and this well-bred colt should prove too good for these, despite shouldering a penalty. Newcomers Arctic Sound and Zoffee both need a close look in the betting but the selection may have most to fear from Glorious Dane, who appears to be the Hannon first-string ahead of Beauty Concept.

19:45 - HOMBRE CASADO (3) looks potentially useful and can maintain his unbeaten start to life in handicaps. As you'd expect from his pedigree (out of a winner up to 11f), he has improved agains since stepping back up to a mile. Leicester runner-up De Medici and recent C&D second Mosalim are feared most.

20:15 - Dual Kempton winner MUDALLEL (2) was undone by a wide draw and steady gallop last time, but there's certainly more improvement in him and the prospect of Lamloom and My Amigo setting a true pace here means the selection should get his ideal circumstances despite the small field. Ghayyar remains on a handy mark and appeals as the biggest danger ahead of Club Wexford.

20:45 - HISTORY WRITER (2) was runner-up in what looks a pretty strong race last time and a repeat of that form will likely see him get off the mark. He needs to settle down a little bit (keen last time), but looks the type to keep on improving as his stamina is drawn out. Perisher and Strategist are the obvious pair to give him most to do.
