14:00 - Twenty go to post for the opener but a couple stand out in particular, including William of Orange, who remains unexposed and should relish this step up in trip given his strong-finishing second at York over two miles last time. It is hard to knock the toughness of Air Squadron, who has progressed with each start this season, and he is also worth including.
14:35 - Highland Reel has burnt a few fingers in his time, and his tendency for sweating up and being on his toes before a race, as he was in the Irish Derby, makes him a somewhat risky Placepot prospect. Disegno seems a more reliable and generally consistent sort, with his form this season including a third in the Fielden behind Golden Horn, and a fourth in the Tercentenary at Royal Ascot behind Time Test, he should stay this trip and looks a straightforward alternative to the favourite.
15:10 - Solow looks a banker for a place in the Sussex Stakes, Freddy Head's grey tops the race on ratings, handles conditions, and has a much easier task now with no Gleneagles in the field.
15:45 - With the withdrawal of Washington DC this looks a simple task for the favourite King of Rooks, whose third in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot last time sets the standard here by some way, and he should certainly be within the first three barring a mishap.
16:20 - Winter Rose sets the standard here based on her Newmarket third behind Salvo on debut, and with improvement to expected, representing her top connections, she is worth including. A chance is also taken on Silent Dreamer, whose yard have had an excellent record with their two-year-olds so far this this season.
16:55 - Just a 2lb rise for Forest Maiden's brave front-running victory at Newbury last time could prove lenient and she looks worth banking on in our final leg, with more improvement likely to come based on her progressive profile.
