Cheltenham Festival winner Ted Veale runs at Galway on Monday

It's day one of the Galway Festival and Timeform have selected their three best bets...

"One of a trio representing his shrewd handler, the 8-y-o is 7 lb lower compared to when last seen out in this sphere and his efforts over jumps this year suggest he's as good as ever. "

Galway 18:50 - Ted Veale

Ted Veale can provide Tony Martin with back-to-back victories in this valuable handicap. One of a trio representing his shrewd handler, the 8-y-o is 7 lb lower compared to when last seen out in this sphere and his efforts over jumps this year suggest he's as good as ever. The consistent Awesome Star is a live danger, while the likes of Modem, Plinth and Wood Breizh also command respect.

Galway 19:20 - Cenotaph

The pair to concentrate on are Cenotaph and Tadaany, both of whom represent top yards and bring striking potential to the table. Clear preference is for Cenotaph, who didn't enjoy the best of runs when third on his handicap debut at the Curragh and he's almost certainly capable of better than his current mark implies. Liffey View and Laharde can do battle for minor honours.

Galway 19:50 - The Last Marju

The Last Marju caught the eye when only just failing to land a Ballinrobe handicap last time, and with further progress on the cards, he is taken to make amends in this competitive handicap. There are plenty of dangers however, with Harasava, Azzuri and Loved top of the list.

Timeform Galway SmartPlays

Back Ted Veale in the 18:50
Back Cenotaph in the 19:20
Back The Last Marju in the 19:50
