Nick Shiambouros returns to the tipping chair with two selections from Newcastle...
"I think she is capable of much better, and is attractively priced at [5.4] on the exchange"
Lexington to show the way
17:45 Newcastle - Lexington Palm
Lexington Palm should defy a penalty in this novice auction stakes.
This filly put in a much improved effort when beating Tie A Yellowribbon at Catterick last month. She made all the running, and held on in the closing stages to score in determined fashion. The front two finished well ahead of the third place finisher. I think this likeable individual is open to further improvement and is fairly priced at [3.5] on the exchange.
Arms Of The Angel is the obvious danger. She finished a fair fifth to Water Diviner at Brighton and should have more to offer. The stable is going through a lean spell and looks short enough at [2.56] on the exchange.
Warrior to deliver
18:15 Newcastle - Warrior Goddess
Warrior Goddess is my idea of the winner of this interesting contest.
This filly finished fourth to Terrier Spirit at Doncaster in June. She kept on really well in the closing stages, and was not beaten all that far. She was recently sold for a modest amount to trainer John Butler, but I am not overly concerned. I think she is capable of much better, and is attractively priced at [5.4] on the exchange.
Wind Storm heads the market at [3.5] on the exchange. She finished down the field in a handicap over this course for new connections last month, but is capable of better. I am not sure if the shorter trip will benefit her, but enters calculations nonetheless.
