Nick Shiambouros returns to the tipping chair with two strong fancies from Bangor...
"Her trainer Richard Mitford – Slade has done very well with his small string and his stable star Samuel Jackson is Cheltenham bound"
Applesolutely should prove difficult to beat in this interesting contest.
This mare beat Coup De Pinceau in a maiden hurdle at Taunton last month. She took the lead on the run to the final flight and pulled clear to win with complete authority. She was sent off at a big price but there was no fluke about this victory. Her trainer Richard Mitford - Slade has done very well with his small string and his stable star Samuel Jackson is Cheltenham bound.
I think she has a lot more to offer and is fairly priced at [2.92] on the exchange.
Good Man Pat is the second choice at [3.95]. He has the form in the book to be competitive but tends to find little off the bridle. Not for me.
Fin And Game is taken to beat the odds-on favourite in this novices' hurdle.
This gelding beat Doc Carver over this course last month. He was sent to the front over the final flight and held on in determined fashion to score by half a length. This was his second victory over hurdles and this likeable individual continues to impress. He has to concede weight all, but I think he is up to the task. At present he is trading at [3.2] on the exchange which is just about right.
Potterman heads the market at [1.97] on the exchange. He finished second to Pacific De Beaune at Newbury in December and is open to improvement. He looks plenty short enough for me and I can afford to let him win at that price.
