Nick Shiambouros returns to the tipping chair with two strong fancies from the card at Sandown...
"I think he will be ready to do himself justice and is fairly priced at 5.85/1 on the exchange"
13:25 Sandown - Tommy Hallinan
Tommy Hallinan is my idea of the winner of this intriguing contest.
This gelding was last seen on a racecourse at Cork in May where he made all the running to win a four runner maiden. He makes his hurdles debut for Paul Nicholls who has selected this decent race to begin his campaign. It is around this time of year that he begins to roll out some of his big guns, and this lightly raced individual is evidently held in high regard at home. I think he will be ready to do himself justice and is fairly priced at 5.85/1 on the exchange.
Jukebox Jive heads the market at 3.02/1. He made an impressive winning debut at Fontwell last month but does have to carry a penalty for that success. This race looks a lot tougher, and will not be easy for him to give the weight away.
Night Of Glory cost a fortune at the sales in the summer and was rated 92 on the flat. He could be the main danger.
14:30 Sandown - On The Blindside
On The Blindside should go very close in this fascinating race.
This Irish point winner was most impressive when beating Momella in a Grade 2 event at Cheltenham last month. He took the lead on the run-in, and powered clear in the closing stages to score with plenty in hand. I was really taken with his attitude and should move forward again. At present he is trading at 2.962/1 on the exchange which is more than fair.
White Moon is the danger. He won his second race this term when beating Rhaegar easily at Exeter last month. Improvement is expected, but I think he will have his work cut out to topple the selection. At present he is trading at 3.8514/5 on the exchange.
