Timeform pick out their three best bets from Kempton on Friday evening...
"...he left the impression he would come on plenty for the experience..."
Timeform on Alfurat River
Damon Runyon has a wide draw to contend with, but that isn't expected to pose a problem, given he looked an above-average sort when finishing fourth on debut at Newmarket last month. He was ridden patiently that day and caught the eye making up a lot of ground in a little time over two furlongs out, his greenness manifesting more off the bridle, and he seems sure to improve for that initial experience. Artois and Brawny are also potential improvers having shaped well on their respective debuts, too.
Alfurat River made plenty of appeal on paper and duly made an encouraging debut at Windsor last month, beaten three lengths in third by a potentially smart type, and he left the impression he would come on plenty for the experience. Perhaps the lack of support in the market for him beforehand makes his performance even better and, despite already been gelded, he seemingly has plenty of potential, and is fully expected to open his account at the second attempt. Of the remainder, White Coat looks a noteworthy newcomer and needs monitoring in the market, along with Song Without End.
James Fanshawe can boast a good record at Kempton, and his Indian Tygress makes plenty of appeal here. She made a winning debut back in April and has filled the runner-up spot on both of her starts since, latest over five furlongs at Windsor last month. It is a little disconcerting that she is yet to build on her debut form, but it remains early days with her, and an opening mark of 76 shouldn't be beyond her. Laubali arrives in form and is feared, as is Han Solo Berger.
