Timeform pick out their three best bets from Punchestown on Friday.
Diamond King - 16:20 Punchestown
Diamond King was sent off favourite for the Plate at the Cheltenham Festival last time from a similar mark that he won the Coral Cup off at the previous Festival, but had no chance after making a bad blunder at the sixth fence. He has been given a lower mark by the Irish handicapper, and looks favourably treated on the pick of his form (not beaten far in a Grade 1 novice chase earlier this season). He is well worth another chance. Le Prezien didn't have many excuses when sent off a short-priced favourite for the Grand Annual last time, but may needs this sort of test nowadays and is respected.
Arctic Fire - 17:30 Punchestown
Arctic Fire won the County Hurdle off a BHA mark of 158 last time and in what looks a much more open running of this race compared to the last one he contested (where he was second to Faugheen) he is worth chancing despite being overlooked by Ruby Walsh. Walsh's mount Vroum Vroum Mag is respected, but the biggest danger could come from Brain Power if he bounces back from his disappointing display in the Champion Hurdle last time. He had looked well worth a try at this sort of level when bolting up in a warm Ascot handicap before Christmas.
Finian's Oscar - 18:05 Punchestown
Finian's Oscar missed the Cheltenham Festival due to a setback but was back with a bang at Aintree, winning the Mersey Novices' Hurdle by three lengths. He is improving all the time, and will be very hard to beat if building on that here 20 days later. Death Duty was not himself in the Albert Bartlett last time when sent off a short price, and is well worth another chance to resume his progress, having looked an exciting prospect prior to that. Let's Dance was beaten at short odds at Fairyhouse last time, but is still respected now back against the boys.
