Nick Shiambouros returns to the tipping chair with two decent priced selections from Ascot...
"The mile journey clearly suited this daughter of Vale Of York, and further improvement is expected"
Teresita ready on debut
13:50 Ascot - Teresita Alvarez
I am going to take a chance with debutant Teresita Alvarez in this interesting maiden.
This Arch filly is out of a stakes winning dam and is a half-sister to the talented Our Stormin Norman, who was not disgraced in the Grade 3 Delta Jackpot a couple of years ago. She should love the fast ground, and her talented conditioner will have her ready to do herself justice at first asking. At present she is trading at 8.415/2 on the exchange which is about right.
Ceratonia is the favourite at 2.727/4 on the exchange. The Charlie Appleby stable is on fire at the moment and it is no surprise to see this debutant trading so low. She is a half-sister to the smart Wild Illusion who won a Group 1 as a two-year-old. She has the pedigree to be something special, and merits serious consideration.
Take Clon to win again
15:35 Ascot - Clon Coulis
Clon Coulis should make her presence felt in this intriguing Listed contest.
This filly put in a much improved effort when beating Promising Run at Pontefract earlier this month. She took the lead inside the final furlong, and pulled clear to win with complete authority. The mile journey clearly suited this daughter of Vale Of York, and further improvement is expected. At present she is trading at 7.26/1 on the exchange which is more than fair.
Beshaayir heads the market at 2.8815/8 on the exchange. She was visually impressive when winning a competitive handicap, and clearly has more to offer. This looks like a pretty tough assignment and represents poor value in my opinion.
