Nick Shiambouros returns to the tipping chair with two selections from the flat meetings at Newbury and Doncaster...
"I think she is open to significant improvement, and is attractively priced at 5.24/1 on the exchange"
13:40 Newbury - George Of Hearts
George Of Hearts is my idea of the winner of this large group of maidens.
This expensive breeze-up purchase ran well on debut when finishing fourth to Beshaayir over this course last month. He delivered a challenge a furlong from home, but could only stay on at one pace in the closing stages. With improvement expected, he looks like the one to beat and is fairly priced at 3.211/5 on the exchange.
Jahaafel is well worth a mention. He was another costly breeze-up purchase and comes from a good family. His pedigree suggests he will be more effective over further, but should be forward enough on debut. The stable is still going well, even at this late stage of the season which is an added bonus. At present he is trading at 8.27/1 on the exchange.
13:50 Doncaster - Gumriyah
Gumriyah should make her experience count in this interesting maiden.
This well related filly caught the eye on debut when finishing seventh to Veracious at HQ earlier this month. She missed the break, but recovered to chase the leaders before becoming a little unbalanced a furlong from home. This was a very promising effort and should know a lot more this time. I think she is open to significant improvement, and is attractively priced at 5.24/1 on the exchange.
There are plenty of nice types in this field and debutant Lunar Corona is no exception. She is by Dansili and is out of the talented mare Starscope who incidentally won on debut. She must be respected and is currently trading at 5.04/1 on the exchange.
