Nick Shiambouros hopes to find a couple of winners from the NH meetings at Ascot and Catterick...
"I think this likeable individual is open to significant improvement, and can give in form trainer Harry Fry another winner"
14:05 Ascot - Mr One More
Mr One More is my idea of the winner of this fascinating contest.
This gelding was most impressive on hurdles debut when beating Summerville Boy at Stratford last month. He took the lead over the last, and was pushed out to score far easier than the winning margin suggests. The runner-up ran a blinder at Cheltenham last Saturday finishing a close second to Slate House. I think this likeable individual is open to significant improvement, and can give in form trainer Harry Fry another winner. At present he is trading at 4.84/1 on the exchange which is more than fair.
Kayf Grace is the current favourite at 2.915/8. This dual bumper winner won a Bangor novices' hurdle very easily almost a year ago. She is an exciting prospect and rates as the main danger to the selection.
Lalor merits consideration. He was narrowly beaten in a novices' hurdle at Exeter last month and is not easily overlooked.
14:25 Catterick - Rockalzaro
Rockalzaro should go close in this novices' hurdle.
This gelding finished third to Temple Man on hurdles debut at Kelso last month. He ran on well over the final flight and was only just denied in the closing stages. This bumper winner has every right to improve and should be a lot sharper today. At present he is trading at 3.814/5 on the exchange which is about right.
Parthenius is the short priced favourite at 2.1211/10. This classy European flat performer scrambled home to win on hurdles debut at Plumpton earlier this month and has to carry a penalty for that victory. He looks short enough.
