Kaftan - Limerick 18:35
Kaftan showed improved form to get off the mark on reappearance over this trip at Naas last month, travelling well and staying on to lead close home. She's bred to stay middle distances (dam, 10.3f winner, sister to very smart 1¼m-13.4f winner Day Flight) and she looks one to follow this season. As such, she gets the vote to complete a double here against a small field. Snapraeceps will probably give her most to think about off the back of her win at Gowran. Aurora Moon is also worth considering.
Sacchoandvanzetti - Limerick 19:10
Sacchoandvanzetti's name will undoubtedly test the credentials of even the most battle-hardened of commentators during his career, and he arrives here on the back of a pleasing reappearance run at Fairyhouse last week having been gelded over the winter, doing the best of those ridden close to the pace and holding on for second. That run deserves extra credit considering he was pitched in against his elders straight away, and he can strike here having been raised just 1 lb. Passing Trade has run well in races far stronger than this and is respected, while Pepperoni Pete won well at Cork in May and will be a danger if he returns to that form.
Heaven On Earth - Limerick 19:45
Heaven On Earth has been very green in both of her starts so far, but she showed more than she did on debut when finishing fifth at Gowran Park last month, carrying her head high, but she's bred to be useful (sister to useful 1m winner Kissed By Angels and high-class winner up to 1½m Minding) and she's chanced to take a step forward and take this ordinary-looking maiden with two starts now under her belt. Chesapeake Shores is entitled to progress and be involved in the finish, while Marfa Lights is progressing slowly and may improve to make the frame.
