Cape Palace - 15:25 Newbury
Cape Palace looked a pattern-race performer in the making when storming clear to an eight-length success on his Newcastle debut at the end of last month and can take the next step up the ladder in his stride before some big end-of-season targets. Acquitted is another who arrives on the back of an impressive debut success and may give him most to do ahead of Man of The Night and Tritonic.

Melnikova - 16:30 Newbury
Melnikova is sure to be popular following her winning debut at Kempton last month, overcoming inexperience and seeming sure to improve for that initial experience. She was a rare first-time-out juvenile winner for Sir Michael Stoute, and could be over bet here now turned out under a penalty. Another in the field who made a winning start to her career - and arguably achieved more - is Quadrilateral. That win came over this C&D, still having a bit to do over a furlong out, but really motoring once the penny dropped and she ultimately won with more in hand that the neck winning margin suggests. There should be much more to come from her and she is fancied to put it up to Melnikova.

Nugget - 13:15 Newbury
2 - Richard Hannon's number of winners in past 10 runnings
Richard Hannon has a good record in this race, winning it twice in recent years, including with a newcomer in 2014. The yard could hardly be in better form, too, and had an impressive winning debutant at Yarmouth on Thursday, so Nugget has to be of interest here. There is plenty of stamina in his pedigree, but he is out of a two-year-old winner, and Hannon's juveniles have been going great guns of late.
