Nick Shiambouros returns to the tipping chair with two selections from the final day of the Chester meeting...
"This promising individual is by Frankel and is out of the brilliant mare Heat Haze"
14:25 Chester - Mirage Dancer
Mirage Dancer is taken to upset the short priced favourite in this intriguing contest.
This colt beat Tafaakhor in good style in a Doncaster maiden last October. He ran on strongly inside the final furlong, and got up to score near the finish. I thought this was a pretty decent effort considering he did not look fully wound up. This promising individual is by Frankel and is out of the brilliant mare Heat Haze. He is open to significant improvement and is attractively priced at 6.25/1 on the exchange.
Cliffs Of Moher is the odds-on favourite at 1.774/5. He was most impressive when winning a Leopardstown maiden last October, and is trained by Aiden O'Brien who is having a superb meeting. He is another big improver but is priced accordingly.
16:05 Chester - Desert Rain
Desert Rain can give jockey John Egan another winner at the Chester meeting.
This filly finished a close second to Harbour Grey at Doncaster last month. She looked the likely winner inside the final furlong, but was collared close home by the determined winner. I think she will appreciate the extra yardage and should go very close. At present she is trading at 3.39/4 on the exchange which is more than fair.
Gymnaste is the favourite at 2.6613/8. This Shamardal filly finished second to Vintage Folly on debut at Newcastle last November and is a likely improver. The stable is going well and looks like the main danger to the selection.
