1.50 Crabbie's Earl Grosvenor Handicap (2) 7f127y

Timeform Top Rated
124 11. GOSSIPING Gary Moore Shane Kelly
123+ 13. BARAWEEZ Brian Ellison Phil Dennis (3)
122 16. EXPLAIN Ruth Carr James Sullivan

Analyst's Verdict:
Gossiping could be the one to side with in what looks a wide-open handicap. Judged on his latest effort at Newmarket where circumstances conspired against him, he appears to be coming back to the boil and this track should play to his strengths. Above The Rest goes well here and may emerge as the main danger, though Baraweez is also feared and Muntadab is another with appealing claims.

2.25 Homeserve Huxley Stakes (Group 2) (1) 1¼m70y

Timeform Top Rated
134 2. EMINENT Martyn Meade Oisin Murphy
132 6. WAR DECREE Aidan O'Brien Ryan Moore
131 3. FOREST RANGER Richard Fahey Tony Hamilton

Analyst's Verdict:
On the face of it, War Decree has a fair bit to find with Eminent given that he was only sixth behind that rival in the Craven at Newmarket last spring. However, he has a fitness edge this time and, moreover, may prove more at home on this tight track than Martyn Meade's charge. At the forecast prices, War Decree is the more appealing on value grounds, too. Forest Ranger is best of the rest.

3.00 Boodles Diamond Handicap (2) 1¼m70y

Timeform Top Rated
124 3. GULF OF POETS Michael Easterby Nathan Evans
120+ 12. PIVOINE Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy
119 2. DARK RED Ed Dunlop Ryan Moore

Analyst's Verdict:
Drawn wide and too keen for his own good following a 7-month break, Pivoine's reappearance at Newbury can be excused given his otherwise appealing profile. Indeed, he ended 2017 on an upward curve and, with just 8 runs under his belt, may have more to offer for new connections this year. Gulf of Poets arrives here at the top of his game and, along with Restorer and Dark Red, he has to be feared.

3.35 188Bet Chester Cup Handicap (2) 2¼m140y

Timeform Top Rated
123 15. DUBAWI FIFTY Karen McLintock Silvestre De Sousa
122 6. MAGIC CIRCLE Ian Williams Fran Berry
122 7. FUN MAC Hughie Morrison Oisin Murphy

Analyst's Verdict:
This marathon trip could unlock improvement in Stargazer, who was progressive for Sir Michael Stoute in 2016 and has shown that his ability remains very much intact with a couple of solid efforts on the AW in March. Dubawi Fifty also has low mileage and is a big danger, along with the consistent Magic Circle. Had he been better drawn, Who Dares Wins would've been very high on the shortlist, too.

4.05 LDF Conditions Stakes (3) 5f15y

Timeform Top Rated
125 1. KACHY Tom Dascombe Richard Kingscote
121+ 5. GROWL Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan
120+ 3. DUKE OF FIRENZE David C. Griffiths David Allan

Analyst's Verdict:
Despite being drawn widest of all, Kachy is taken to maintain his 100% record on the Roodee. Tom Dascombe's charge has been in cracking form on the AW in recent months and is much the most likely winner given that Duke of Firenze is entitled to come on for the run, Double Up looks vulnerable on these terms and Growl appears to be at his best over 6f/7f.

4.40 YCO Apprentice Handicap (4) 1½m63y

Timeform Top Rated
100 3. RAINBOW REBEL Mark Johnston Andrew Breslin (7)
99+ 9. GABRIAL'S KING Richard Fahey Connor Murtagh (5)
98 4. CORTON LAD Keith Dalgleish Rowan Scott

Analyst's Verdict:
Stepping back up in trip will suit Kazawi, who was doing all his best work at the finish when chasing home an in-form, race-fit rival at Kempton. This low-mileage 4-y-o should also get a strong pace to aim at this time and gets the nod ahead of Gabrial's King, who resumes on an attractive mark. Course winner Rainbow Rebel has been in good form on the AW and is also high on the shortlist.

5.15 188Bet Chester Plate Handicap (2) 2¼m140y

Timeform Top Rated
110 1. BYRON FLYER Ian Williams David Egan (3)
110 12. COEUR DE LION Alan King William Carson
109 15. ANGEL GABRIAL Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan

Analyst's Verdict:
Preference is for Eye of The Storm, who has resumed in good form for new connections this season and, with this stamina test expected to be right up his street, he is taken to reverse recent Ripon placings with Mirsaale. Coeur De Lion remains unexposed in this sphere and is a much-respected main danger, while American Gigolo, Euchen Glen and Night of Glory are others to consider.
