"New connections purchased him for 80,000 guineas later that month and he strikes as the type to make an impact in this sphere..."

Timeform on Christopher Wood

14:05 - AMZAC MAGIC (9) was successful in points and has shown ability in all of his starts under Rules so far, running one of his best races to date on handicap debut at Exeter last time, still looking raw. That experience seems sure to aid his development further, and this lightly-raced type makes appeal in a race of this nature. Aidan Coleman has a good record at Fontwell and his is an interesting booking with that in mind. Silver Quay arrives in top form and looks an obvious danger.

14:35 - CHRISTOPHER WOOD (2) and Westbrook Bertie look set to dominate, with slight preference for Paul Nicholls' hurdling newcomer. He was a fairly useful performer on the Flat when trained by Michael Bell, his latest win coming in a mile handicap at Windsor in October. New connections purchased him for 80,000 guineas later that month and he strikes as the type to make an impact in this sphere, too.

15:10 - Anthony Honeyball is really cranking it up now following a quiet start to the season, and LE COEUR NET (2) is very much of interest after a mini-break. He won a handicap chase at Ffos Las by 18 lengths when last seen in November, albeit a fortunate winner left in front two out, but he was starting to make some inroads before his main rival departed. A 6 lb rise for that success seems fair, and this doesn't look the strongest race of its type, so he is fancied to follow up with the yard in form.

15:45 - DEJA VUE (4) cost connections £82,000 after winning an Irish point on debut in March last year and she looks very interesting now making her Rules debut for an in-form yard. A half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser Jetstream Jack (19f-23f winner) and fairly useful hurdler Nendrum (2m winner), she is bred to do well, and the booking of Richard Johnson, who rides this track well, catches the eye. Bullfrog has been strong in the market this morning following his promising hurdling debut and could prove the biggest danger.

16:20 - CAMRON DE CHAILLAC (1) was a fair winner over hurdles, and has shaped better than the bare result on both of his starts over fences this season, back in the visor at Chepstow last time. He had forcing tactics redeployed, too, matching strides with the runner-up for a long way, jumping soundly before losing his place after four out, and having no extra after. It's worth noting that both of his wins over hurdles came at around this trip, so the drop back from 3m will be in his favour and he is fancied to go close.

16:50 - BLAZER'S MILL (1) was a promising second in a point and cost plenty subsequently, so this Rules debut should prove little more than a formality for this really interesting prospect. Fellow-newcomers Mount Windsor and Mylittlerunaway could prove the main threat but are unlikely to be in the same league as the selection.
