The markets have been reviewed, and today's three Follow The Money selections come from the meetings at Southwell and Yarmouth...
We start at Yarmouth in the first race of the day, the 14:00 1m Maiden Stakes with the Luca Cumani-trained two-year-old Rickrack. The juvenile has attracted strong support since last night and has been backed from 6.86/1 in to 5.24/1. Having come seventh of nine in a Class 5 maiden at Newmarket last month Rickrack is expected to come on for that run given the drop down in class this afternoon. Drawn in stall seven of eight she should get a nice tow into the race and with Jamie Spencer booked, a jockey that likes to come off the pace, she looks primed for a big run. She faces tough competition in the form of favourite Tomorrowcomes, however, she has failed to impress in her two starts to date, so, given the drop back in class and the trainer's record with second time out youngsters we feel she is worth taking on with Rickrack.
Our next selections runs in the 14:15 at Southwell and interestingly the favourite Presenting Streak opened up at 2.26/5 but has steadily drifted out to 2.89/5 over the course of the morning. The Peter Winks-trained seven-year-old is trying to complete a hat-rick of wins after going in twice last month at Stratford. As a result of those two recent wins however Presenting Streak is on a career high mark and is giving away weight to all of his rivals. These small field handicaps tend to become quite tactical and with Benzel getting off the mark on his second attempt under today's jockey Aidan Coleman, and with the weight swing in its favour, we are happy to take on Presenting Streak and recommend him as our lay of the day.
Our final selection of the day comes from the 15:45 1m7f Handicap Hurdle at Southwell where our each-way selection Little Pop has been heavily supported from 8.27/1 into 5.24/1 this morning. The eight-year-old Nigel Twinston-Davies-trained gelding is back down to its last winning mark and he could take all the beating here. He finished fifth on his reappearance at Worcester last month but he was entitled to need the run. The form has been franked significantly with the horses finishing second and third in that race both going on to win next time out off of higher ratings in similar class. There is however strong competition at the head of the market with In On The Act and Sailors Warn, so we will play on the cautious side and back the selection each-way at 5.24/1.
