Back One Life Live It @ 9.617/2 in the 15:30 @ Lingfield

We start the day at Lingfield where we find our first positive in the 15.30 7f Maiden Stakes. One Life Live It has been receiving support at high odds, from 19.018/1 in to 9.617/2. This three-year-old colt by Holy Roman Emperor is having his first start today so the market support looks significant. Nick Littmoden's runner is related to three winners, including Baranova, who won over 1m at two-years-old, and his price increased from a foal to a yearling. This, combined with the confidence in the market, gives us enough reasons to put up One Life Live It for a debut win in what looks like a fairly uncompetitive maiden.

Staying at Lingfield for the 16:00 1m4f Handicap, where there has been steady support for the favourite Watersmeet, into 2.111/10 from a high of 2.3611/8. Mark Johnston's gelding has notched up two wins from 10 starts so far in his career, one over 1m2½f at Haydock last summer, and most recently winning comfortably by four lengths at Chelmsford City a week ago over 1m2f, when returning from a break. This does leave this four-year-old with a 6lb penalty, however, with the step up in trip looking likely to suit, we don't think this penalty will hold Watersmeet back.

Heading to Newton Abbot for our negative of the day, in the 16.10 2m5f Handicap Chase where Bravo Riquet has drifted out to 4.47/2 from a low of 3.814/5. This nine-year-old gelding has been running well of late, winning twice at Plumpton in January and most recently finishing second at Leicester earlier this month. However, David Bridgwater's runner was a beaten favourite that day and he now has a rising handicap mark to contend with, up 13lb since his last win. In this competitive race Bravo Riquet looks worth taking on, with noticeable support coming for his two main rivals, Brody Bleu and Olympian Boy.
