The markets have been reviewed, and today's three Follow The Money selections come from the meetings at Haydock and Chelmsford...
We kick off proceedings with Lightentertainment in the 15:15 at Haydock, backed from 6.25/1 in to 4.77/2 The Chris Gordon trained gelding has gone from strength to strength this season - racking up a total of four victories from six outings, subsequently going up 26lbs in the handicap. However, his progression might not quite be finished. The seven-year-old son of Kings Theatre was last seen running a more than respectable race in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury in February. With the combination of a short break, better ground and step down in class he may just be able to outclass his rivals this afternoon.
In what looks a winnable novices hurdle A Vos Gardes has been subject to solid support this morning, shortening from 2.01/1 in to 1.814/5 The dual bumper winner looks to hold all the cards in Haydock's 16:25 contest. His trainer Charlie Longsdon has always spoken highly regarding his ability and even considered running him at the festival this season. Every inch a chaser in the making this looks to be his last run this season before being turned out for the summer and we fully expect him to finish off his campaign with a victory.
Our negative comes in the 16:35 at Chelmsford in the shape of Varsovian. The lay was matched as short as 3.9 in the early exchanges but has taken a walk out to 4.67/2. Having won four of his last seven starts - all on Polytrack - he's climbing the weights and this is the highest class he's contested. In what looks a trappy race, there are plenty of rivals that pose winning chances.
