Follow The Money: Moon will shine at Uttoxeter

It's all jumps fare today
It's all jumps fare today

Today's Follow The Money comes from the jumps meetings at Plumpton and Uttoxeter.

"Moon Over Rio has recently been running on the flat, showing glimmers of form by twice finishing third in handicaps last month, so should be fit enough to do herself justice this afternoon. She carries bottom weight in today's event and we recommend an each-way bet on the Ben Haslam-trained mare."

Back Moon Over Rio @ 10.09/1 each-way in the 15:40 at Uttoxeter

Other Recommended Bets
Back Breaking The Bank @ 5.79/2 in the 14:40 at Uttoxeter
Lay Mr Burgees @ 2.588/5 in the 15:00 at Plumpton

We start at Uttoxeter for our main win bet where Breaking The Bank has been a warm order all morning which has seen his price tumble from an early 9.617/2 in to 5.79/2 to win the 14:40. The seven-year-old gelding ran well on his seasonal debut in June after a long absence from the track, finishing third over today's distance. His two subsequent runs have been disappointing but they were both over three miles and the market suggests the combination of a drop in trip and a useful handicap mark will suit our selection today.

Moving to Plumpton for our negative. We will be taking on the David Pipe-trained Mr Burgees in the 15:00 race, who had drifted on the exchange from an opening 2.021/1 out to 2.588/5. This will be the first run for his new stable and his first attempt at this three mile trip over rules. He has also been absent from the course for almost a year and we feel there are better alternatives among the opposition, not least Shady Glen, who has been given a new lease of life since fitted with blinkers and should give our selection plenty to think about today. It all adds up to a lay of Mr Burgees.

We return to Uttoxeter for the each-way bet, where Moon Over Rio has seen plenty of support in the 15:40 race which has seen her price contract from 15.014/1 in to 10.09/1. Although she hasn't been seen over obstacles for almost a year - she was pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Sedgefield in November - she has recently been running on the flat, showing glimmers of form by twice finishing third in handicaps last month, so should be fit enough to do herself justice this afternoon. She carries bottom weight in today's event and we recommend an each-way bet on the Ben Haslam-trained mare.
