The markets have been reviewed, and today's three Follow The Money selections come from the meetings at Ayr, Fairyhouse, and Southwell...
Our lay of the day runs in the first at Southwell 14:20 a handicap chase over two miles. Shady Glen is on the slide. Matched as low as 1.875/6 Graeme McPherson's gelding is currently available to back at 2.962/1. He looked to be travelling well until falling last time out at Warwick over two and half miles which might have dented his confidence and he's only had a week to recover from that mishap. For a horse that has mainly applied his trade at three miles, Southwell's flat track will surely be too sharp for him. With proven two mile chasers in the field in the form of Chankillo and course and distance winner Red Rosso there are sure to go a good lick, any frailties in Shady Glen's jumping will be tested.
Our first back runs at Fairyhouse. Dermot Weld's Intransive has been a popular choice for punters in this mile and a half handicap at 17:05. Matched as high as 5.59/2 Intransive is currently trading 4.1. He took some very nice scalps in a Gowran Park maiden last year, namely Chester Vase winner Hans Holbein and Royal Ascot winner (Queens Vase) Aloft and considering both those horses are now rated 105, Intransive looks a handicap shoe-in here off a mark of 84. He had a good pipe-opener at Killarney in mid-August over a mile and three so he should strip fitter for that. The extra furlong should suit and we recommend getting on this handicap good thing at 4.1.
Our final Selection runs in the last at Ayr in the 17:30 handicap over a mile. There's been an eye catching move for Iain Jardine's Newmarket Warrior, backed from 6.57 all the way in to 4.77/2, accounting for over half the money traded on the market. A promising two-year-old for Michael Bell two season ago with some useful form, the pick probably being second to Godolphin's Safety Check (a Group two winner in Meydan) at Newmarket over a mile, he missed all of the 2014 season. He was punted off the boards last time out at Haydock which was a good sign; however, he was a tad disappointing mainly due to the ground. He drops in grade here and the blinkers are on and with promising apprentice Kyle Currie taking off a valuable 7lb, Newmarket Warrior could prove too good for his rivals here.
Lay Shady Glen @ 2.962/1 in the 14:20 Southwell
Back Intransive @ 4.1 in the 17:05 Fairyhouse
Back Newmarket Warrior @ 4.77/2 17:30 Ayr
